Say GoodBye to Windows 10

Here's what you need to know!

It’s the end of an era! While some of us are still clinging to the familiar charm of Windows 10, the countdown has officially begun — Microsoft is pulling the plug on one of its most-loved operating systems on October 14, 2025. That’s right, after a solid 10 year run, Windows 10 will no longer receive free security updates, bug fixes, or shiny new features. So, what does that mean for you?

What “End of Support” Really Means

Your devices won’t suddenly stop working, but over time, they’ll become more vulnerable to security threats — and that’s a big risk for any business. No updates = no safety net.

What Should You Do?

Here’s the lowdown:

Step 1: Check Your Apps
Are your key business apps compatible with Windows 11? If yes, great! You’re on your way. If not, we need to talk — especially if you’re using older or industry-specific software.

Step 2: Consider the Extended Support Program (ESU)
Not ready to say goodbye to Windows 10? Microsoft is offering paid security updates (and only security updates) for a few more years starting at $45 AUD per device and doubling each year for up to three years. Not ideal for large fleets, but perfect for a few critical machines.

Step 3: Plan Your Upgrade
Many newer PCs are already Windows 11 ready, and upgrades are free through Windows Update. Just back up your important files, follow the prompts, and you’re off! If your device doesn’t meet the minimum specs, a hardware upgrade or full replacement might be in order think new hard drive, more RAM, or in some cases, a whole new system.
